Sudhagad is one of the hill fort situated
in Maharashtra. Sudhagad is around 53 kilometers from Pune,
26 kilometers from Lonavala and 11 kilometers from
Pali. The height of the fort is around 2,030 feet above sea level.
The fort of Sudhagad is said to be of 2nd
Century BC. The fort was also called as Bhorapgad (à¤ोरपगड़). In the year 1436 the
fort was captured by Bahamani Sultan. After that in the
year 1657 the Marathas captured the fort and renamed it as "Sudhagad".
The fort was too large and Shivaji Maharaj had considered it as the
capital of the Kingdom. The 'Pantsachivas' (पंतसचिवास) of Bhor
became the protector of the fort in the rule of Peshwas.

On the fort there are two temples dedicated to Lord
Shiva and also there is a temple of Bhoraidevi (à¤ोराईदेवी ) which is well
maintained. On the large plateau there are two lakes, a big granary, a house, a
temple, some tombs and other remnants on the fort.
On the fort there are three
main gates in that there is a large gate called as Maha Darwaja. From
the fort other forts can be seen such as Korigad, Sarasgad, Ghangad and Taila-Baila (तैल-बैला).

the Pune there are ST (State Transport) buses or local transports are available
to Pali, Distance between Pune to Pali is 111 kilometers. Then you can go to
Pachchapur, which is 12 kilometers from Pali, then you can walk from Pachhapur
to Thakurwadi, where as Pali to Thakurwadi is 13 kilometers.
From Thakurwadi,
one had to ascend by ladder, this route is not only exhaustive, but also
slippery, from Pachhapur takes 2 hrs to reach the fort, this way directly go to
Pachhapur Darwaja.

Ballaeshwar temple is situated in
Pali between Sarasgad fort and river Amba. The temple was reconstructed
in 1760. The temple was built in the shape of the word Shri (श्री). The temple
of Ballaeshwar is a place of worship.
Around thousands of people visit the temple during Chaturthi (चतुर्थी) and Ganesh festival. Donations
are also given to the temple by the devotees.
