History of Rangana fort.

Rangana fort, arranged in Bhudargad taluka, goes again to the "Shilahar" administration (940 AD). This fort was built by King Bhoj of Shilahar dynasty. It was vanquished by leaders of the Bahamani kingdom, and later by Adilshah.
Shivaji Maharaj won the fort in the wake of killing Afzal Khan in 1659.Later the fortress was based on the requests of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. There are references of Shivaji Maharaj offering rewards on the fortification's developers, Aroji Yadav and Firoji Farjand.
Rangana is a monstrous fortress with 65 structures. The five doors are still in place and there are three little lakes on the post, flanked by broad woods that play host to wild creatures like bears and panthers.
Three hundred years back the fort zone is by all accounts covered by thick wilds. Considering today's unapproved deforestation still the thick forest is there, so the fort is not seen by many tourist even reaching the foot of the fort.
The fortification is spread over the peak of the Sahyadri. The fortification is remaining like a mindful place where the guarding is easy and best place in sahyadris. From Rangana, strongholds like Manohar & Mansantosh (where a Black Panther was detected a few years back) can be seen.
This stronghold goes under area called as "Maval Patta". The nature loaded with slopes & valleys encompassing Rangana is most extreme appealing.
On this fort, Ranganai sanctuary is standing witness to old history. One lovely lake with very nearly 365 day’s water source is there. Sooner or later prior old statue from the temple was discovered stolen.
