History of Pandavgad Fort

Pandavgad Fort is situated for about 1 km from Wai. Pandavgad Fort was built by King Bhoj by the Shilahar Dynasty. The area of the fort is about 6 acres.

The fort of Pandavgad fort was a very important line of defense in the battle between the British and Trimbakji Dengle in 1817. The defenses of the fort consist of a scrap generally from forty to sixty feet high.

Pratapgad fort
Pratapgad Fort is the famous fort in Satara district of Maharashtra. Pratapgad Fort is about 27 kms from Mahabaleshwar. The fort of Pratapgad was built by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Pratapgad is famous for the Bhavani Temple which is dedicated to the goddess Bhavani located on the east side of the fort. There is a hall in the temple which has wooden pillars which were also constructed by Shivaji Maharaj. There is a Tomb of Afzal Khan which is also an attraction on the fort.
