History of Purnagad

It is said that Shivaji Maharaj halted his stronghold development after this fort consequently the name Purna (complete) gad (fort). Some individuals also say that the fort was constructed by Sekhoji Angre, son of Kanhoji Angre.

The fort is in remains however a significant number of the walls of the fort are still in great condition.
The fort is located on the hillock which is on the northern side of the Muchakundi River. At the primary entrance of the fort, there is one idol of Hanuman.

Gateway of Ratnagiri
The Gateway of Ratnagiri is situated at the Ratnagiri jetty, on the Mandavi Beach in the Ratnagiri District of Maharashtra. This structure with an inclining top is found at the head of the bay, overlooking the Arabian Sea.

Ratnadurg fort
