History of Vallabhgad Fort

Vallabhgad is located close to Hargaapur. On the post, there is an antiquated sanctuary of Margubai Devi close to the bastion of the fortification. Before the sanctuary is a "Deepmaal", or a plan of lights. The curve of the principle passage is still fit as a fiddle.

The doorway is of the "Gomukhi" sort. Here we discover a Hanuman sanctuary. On the eastern side of the stronghold is the sanctuary of Siddheshwar. Underneath the sanctuary there is a hollow, in which the "Paduka" or the feet of the God are venerated.

It is said that there is a mystery burrow from this hole to Sankeshwar. Amidst the fortress, there is a square molded well. To enter this well, there is a passage from behind the Hanuman sanctuary. The steps to get down are substantial enough.

After 20-25 steps, we go over a curve. There is one extensive well on the fortress, whose water is flowed through taps on the stronghold. It takes around 1.5 to 2 hours to see the complete post. The bulwarks of the fortification are demolished totally.

On the northern point, there is a bastion interior to defenses. This was utilized to keep a watch on the fortification. Despite the fact that the stronghold is not huge, it is critical as one of the fortifications of Shivaji Maharaj outside Maharashtra.
