Sangram Durg is an area fort located at
Chakan, Pune. It is popular for its fence by Firangoji Narsala a well-known
Maratha warrior and military establish in the armed force of Shivaji, a
Maharaja of the Maratha Empire, against a Mughal armed force group by Shaista
Khan in 1660.
Firangoji was a Killedar (commander) of
this fort in Chakan (Pune). At the point when Shaista Khan attacked Pune
with a lakh of troopers, he chose Sangram Durga as the first target. He attacked

Just before this attack Shivaji had asked

for taking the fort. They dug a shaft up to the fort, which was a test due to
the water around it. They filled this shaft with explosives and exploded the wall
of the fort.
This was a significant setback for Firangoji and his
soldiers, 75 officers kicked the bucket in this attack. The Mughal armed force
hurried into the fort, savage battling resulted and numerous Maratha officers
were murdered.

Shaista Khan was shocked by Firangoji's
valiance, and offered him Mughal Sardari. Firangoji declined to accept
it and rather Shaista Khan provided for him and his fighters safe entry.
Firangoji came to meet Shivaji and apologized for surrendering the fort.
Shivaji, content with him for having
guarded the small fort for just about 2 months said "on the off chance
that it took 60 days for Shaista Khan to take a small fort, imagine how
long will be thankful to catch a whole swarajya (kingdom)". Shivaji
paid Firangoji and made him Killedar of the Bhupalgad fort.
