History of Santoshgad Fort

Santoshgad is one of the hill fort situated in the Sahyadri range is mainly divided into three parts first is the "Shambhu Mahadev" range second is the "Bamnoli" range and third is the "Mhasoba" range.

The forts such as Santoshgad, Varugad, Mahimangad, and Vardhangad are the parts of "Mhasoba" range. On Santoshgad fort there are any remnants of the main entrance, but the porches are still intact which were made for the guards.

After entering the main door there is a tank called as 'Hanuman Take'. Behind the Take, there are some warehouses and many dilapidated structures. Whereas behind the warehouse there is another water tank.

There is a Temple of Shiva inside. The regiments of the fort are diminishing, and the outer walls and the Bastions are in good shape and condition. The fort of Santoshgad was used to keep an eye on the surrounding area. At the west side of the fort the mountain range of "Molghat" where the mountain of Seetamani is situated.
